Paris seems unique.
Despite all this city is going through the last years again Paris remains undefeated. And this city is so very romantic, a beautiful place, a „city beauty“ millions of people longing for.
Sweet French macarons symbolise a culinary life full of pleasure in these city which is the heart of France. A delicious sugared creme between two delicate pieces of softly baked whipped egg whites in pastel colours. Magnifique! Should be the French answer to the savoury American hamburger.
And Paris is gentle, mild, elegant and completely different compared to a city such as NY, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, any place we know.
But every rose has its thorn and there are often two sides to every story. Same for Paris, a city so breathtakingly pretty which seems to have its sources in a picture book.
First, the sweet “macaron sin” as a symbol of top patisserie art is a small calorie monster covered in a so innocent looking dress.
Second, Paris itself, which is so much more modern and progressive and strong than some of us can imagine and which some of us try to refute this fact to enjoy undisturbed romantic feelings there.
This gem of a city has developed, rebelled and won for so many times. And maybe perfection is one of the most overrated and most boring things in life.
Isn’t it so that we pass a rose without thorns unimpressed?
Paris isn’t only attractive allure. Upset and hurt for life, again & again and still standing proudly.
And if there are places and cities which strive for an apparently perfection in a new and flawless way with their buildings, people, modern art and attitude you may be remember that „perfect“ mostly means imperfection.
Marc Jacobs, as an American said „Perfect is what’s natural or real. That is beauty.“
And Marc Chagall? He once said that „for him there was no other word more beautiful than Paris.“
For you, too?
