Das Leben ist einfach! Du stehst einfach hinter den Dingen für die du dich entscheidest, gibst dich den Menschen hin, ohne die du nicht sein willst, und gehst deinen Weg mit allem an deiner Seite was passt, schaust nach vorne, läßt dich inspirieren, und lernst aus der Vergangenheit, lernst sowieso, lebst, proaktiv.
Wenn du homosexuell bist, ist dazu zu stehen noch immer mutig weil es manche gibt deren Argwohn, gar Hass du auf dich ziehen wirst. Unglaublich eigentlich in unserer modernen Welt. Gerade Zurschaustellung kann provozieren, bildliche Kunst, doch auf der Gegenseite so viele Mauern niederreißen, und das mag nicht nur allein befreiend sein, sondern ist ein Schritt in die richtige Richtung, für dich selbst und für andere. So wie die Kunst von Kyle Dunn *1990, die bis vor wenigen Tagen bei P.P.O.W Gallery in New York präsentiert wurde.
Die so stark ist, weil sie Verletzlichkeit transportiert, ganz offensichtliche Verletzlichkeit durch Weichheit, Nacktheit, in jedem Sujet, und die des Künstlers selbst, einen Teil seiner Seele trägt.
Die so interessant ist, weil sich unter der schönen Oberfläche eben Sinn und dieser Mut finden lassen, offen verbergen.
Die berührt, weil sie stolz ist und authentisch intime Passion abbildet.
Die wunderschön ist, weil harmonisch.
Wer sich einlassen will, kann damit beginnen in den einzelnen Details von Kyle’s Kunst zu versinken: Das fantastisch schöne Stillleben auf dem Rundtisch, welches einer Szene in einem Luxushotel entsprungen sein könnte. Klassisch. Zelebrierend.
.. Die Zapfen an den Pendeln der Kuckucksuhr – symbolisch hier für das männliche Geschlecht zu werten.
.. Und man achte auf das Licht. – It may not be Joseph Mallord William, but it’s Kyle!
Finde dich selbst oder andere in Kyle’s Kunst, und ist es nicht genau das worum es in guter Kunst vorrangig gehen sollte?
So bezaubernd. So stark. Strebend. Sehr sinnlich sowieso.
A Question of Need is a Question of Taste
Life is simple! You’re thrilled and driven by the things you’ve chosen and choose, fall in love with the people you don’t want to be without, and go your way with everything and everybody on your side that fits, forward looking, getting inspired every single day, and you learn from your past, learn anyway, live, in the best case: proactively.
If you’re gay, it’s still brave to stand up for it, ‚cause there are some whose suspicion – even hatred – you will attract. Unbelievable in our modern world. Display can be provocative, so visual art, but on the other hand it can break down so many walls, and that may not only be liberating, it’s a step in the right direction, for yourself, for others, and just worth it! Like the art of Kyle Dunn *1990, presented until a few days ago at P.P.O.W Gallery in New York.
Which is strong because it conveys vulnerability, very obvious vulnerability through softness, nudity, in every subject, and that of the artist himself, carrying a part of his soul.
Which is interesting, because under the beautiful surface, purpose and courage can be found, openly hidden.
It is touching because it is proud and authentically depicts intimate passion.
If you want to get involved in Kyle’s art (and you should), you can start by delving into the individual details: the fantastically beautiful still life on the round table, which could be a scene in a luxury hotel, too. Classic. Celebratory.
.. The fir cones on the pendulums of the cuckoo clock – symbolic here for the male gender.
.. And one pays attention to the light. – It may not be Joseph Mallord William, but it’s Kyle! Find yourself or others in Kyle’s art, and isn’t that what good art should be primarily about?
So enchanting. So strong. Striving. Very sensual anyway.
